Julian Francis, President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Francis joined Beacon in August 2019. Prior to Beacon, Mr. Francis was the President of the Insulation Business at Owens Corning, a global leader in insulation, roofing and fiberglass composite materials, since October 2014. Mr. Francis led Owens Corning’s largest business segment, with over $2.7 billion in revenue in 2018, to significant sales and EBIT growth in each of the last three years. From 2012-2014, he served as Vice President and General Manager for Owens Corning’s Residential Insulation Business. Mr. Francis also has served as Vice President and Managing Director for Owens Corning’s Glass Reinforcements, Americas, in the Composite Solutions Business. Prior to joining Owens Corning, Mr. Francis was Vice President and Publishing Director at Reed Business Information, a $2.5 billion global leader in publishing, information, and marketing services. Prior to joining Reed, Mr. Francis spent 10 years at USG Corporation rising through the marketing, strategy, and general management ranks. He last served as Vice President, Marketing, where he created the overall strategy for USG’s $3.3 billion manufacturing business. Mr. Francis earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and his doctorate in materials engineering at Swansea University in the United Kingdom. He also earned his master’s degree in business administration at DePaul University.


Joseph M. Nowicki, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Nowicki joined Beacon as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in March 2013. He was the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Spartan Motors, Inc., a custom chassis and vehicle manufacturer, from June 2009 to March 2013. Prior to Spartan, he was with Herman Miller, Inc., a furniture manufacturer, from 1992 through 2009 where he held progressive financial roles, lastly as Vice President, Investor Relations and Treasurer. He also held past financial positions with IBM and General Motors. Mr. Nowicki currently serves on the board of Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc. Mr. Nowicki formerly served on the board of ASV Holdings, Inc. Mr. Nowicki holds a bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

C. Eric Swank, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Swank joined Beacon in October 2004 as our Vice President of Human Resources and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2005. He was then named Senior Vice President Operations for the Mid-Atlantic region in January 2006 while maintaining responsibility for sales and marketing until 2007. In 2013, he was appointed Executive Vice President of the East Division and added the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer role in 2016. Upon the acquisition of Allied in January 2018, Mr. Swank was promoted to the role of the Chief Commercial Officer, where he assumed oversight of commercial strategy, including branding, marketing, sales, e-commerce, product management and pricing. On January 2, 2019, Mr. Swank was named Chief Operating Officer, assuming the lead over Beacon’s roofing and exterior products business in addition to retaining Company-wide responsibility for sales, marketing, and supply chain. Prior to joining Beacon in October 2004, Mr. Swank spent thirteen years with Cintas Corporation in various roles of increasing responsibility. He is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio.

Ross D. Cooper, Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary

Mr. Cooper joined Beacon in July 2006 and was promoted to Executive Vice President effective October 2015. Prior to joining us, Mr. Cooper was a shareholder of Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.A., a law firm, since 1999. From 1996 to 2006, Mr. Cooper served as outside general counsel to Building Suppliers Corporation, LLC, an organization of roofing and construction materials wholesale distributors. Mr. Cooper received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cornell University and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.

Christopher A. Harrison, Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer

Mr. Harrison joined Beacon in 2014 from WABCO Group in Brussels, Belgium, where he was Chief Human Resources Officer for the $2.5 billion global commercial vehicle, braking and vehicle controls systems company with 10,000 employees worldwide. Prior to his role at WABCO, Mr. Harrison had established a successful career based on roles of increasing responsibility in human resources, product development, acquisition integration and portfolio optimization with several multi-national organizations including Stanley Black & Decker, ITT Corporation and TE Connectivity. Mr. Harrison received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University and his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Brendan P. Daly, Executive Vice President & Chief Logistics Officer

Mr. Daly was appointed to his current role in November 2019 following success as Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer since November 2013. Prior to joining Beacon, he was the Vice President of Supply Chain-Americas for Zodiac Pool Systems based in California. Mr. Daly's prior experience includes working for Cooper Industries, The Stanley Works and General Electric, all in supply chain roles. Mr. Daly has a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy.

Christopher Nelson, Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Mr. Nelson joined Beacon in July 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Nelson was Vice President, Information Systems & Supply Chain, for Dan River, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of bedding products. He was with Dan River for 10 years. Prior to his role at Dan River, Mr. Nelson was with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Management Consultant. Mr. Nelson received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Global Executive M.B.A. with honors from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School.

C. Munroe Best III, President, South Division

Mr. Best has oversight of the South Division, which includes Best Distributing, JGA, Dealers Choice and Beacon-Florida. Mr. Best joined Beacon when Best Distributing was acquired in 2000. Prior to joining Beacon in 2000, Mr. Best held numerous roles in the distribution channel including having overall responsibility for launching the complementary products business at Best Distributing. In 2007, Mr. Best was promoted to Regional Vice President. In January 2011, he was named Senior Vice President after many years of successful leadership of Best Distributing and at that time Beacon-Florida was added to his overall responsibility. Mr. Best graduated from Elon University in 1994 with a degree in business administration.

Kent C. Gardner, President, West Division

Mr. Gardner has oversight of the West Division, which includes Roof Depot, West End Roofing, Siding & Windows, Pacific Supply, Structural Materials, Ford Wholesale and Construction Materials Supply. Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Gardner spent eight years with Cintas Corporation serving as an Assistant Group Vice President from 2004 to 2006, Area General Manager from 2003 to 2004, General Manager from 2000 to 2003, Sales Manager from 1999 to 2000, and Service Manager from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Gardner served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer from 1994 to 1998. Mr. Gardner graduated with honors from the University of Missouri as a Student/Athlete earning three Varsity Letters in Football.

Jake Gosa, President, North Division

Mr. Gosa has oversight of the North Division including Canada. Mr. Gosa began his career at Beacon in 2007 as the Assistant Vice President, Midwest Region. In 2012, Mr. Gosa was promoted to Regional Vice President for the Southwest Region and in 2018 appointed Vice President for the Texas Region. Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Gosa worked at GAF/ELK for ten years where he held roles of increasing responsibility including: National Sales Manager and Director of National Accounts. Mr. Gosa graduated from Shepherd University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

Ron J. Pilla, President, Interior Products Division

Mr. Pilla has oversight for the Interior Products division, which includes the wallboard and acoustical ceiling tile product categories. Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Pilla spent twenty seven years with Allied Building Products serving most recently as the President of the Exterior Products division with national responsibility. Prior to his most recent role, Mr. Pilla held roles of increasing responsibility throughout his long and successful tenure across various functions including: Product Management, Operations Management, Regional Management and executive leadership. Mr. Pilla also spent time earlier in his career with Manville Corporation in Sales.

David Wrabel, Vice President & Chief Credit Officer

Mr. Wrabel joined Beacon in April 2006 and is responsible for overseeing all company-wide credit functions. Previously, he was with Veeder-Root Company, a Danaher Company, and was responsible for all credit and trade finance, as well as being a corporate resource for other Danaher Companies. From 1988 until 2002, Mr. Wrabel was manager of North American credit operations for Crompton Corporation, where he also held a variety of positions in financial planning, sales and marketing management and materials management. Mr. Wrabel holds a B.S. in business and finance from the University of Connecticut.

James Wilson, Vice President, Finance & Treasurer

Mr. Wilson has oversight of the Company’s treasury and investor relations activities. Mr. Wilson joined Beacon in 2013 as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Wilson held progressive roles in BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin. Mr. Wilson graduated with a B.S. degree from Rutgers University in Business Administration while earning four Varsity Letters in baseball.

Stephen Balogun, Vice President, Internal Audit

Mr. Balogun joined Beacon in 2013. Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Balogun was with Leidos Corporation, a large government services contractor (formerly part of SAIC), and one of the largest research and technology companies in the United States. He spent 14 progressive years at SAIC during which he was a Deputy Business Unit Controller and one of the leaders of their Internal Audit Department. Mr. Balogun joined the company with extensive experience in internal audits, enterprise risk management, governance, internal control over financial reporting, fraud investigative techniques and risk-based audits. He received his Bachelor of Accountancy, Magna Cum Laude, from The George Washington University and an MBA with a Finance Concentration from Loyola University of Maryland. He holds certifications as a CPA, CIA, CFE and CGMA. He reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and administratively to Mr. Joseph Nowicki, Chief Financial Officer.
