Beacon Roofing Supply Announces Acquisition of Portland, Oregon-based Woodfeathers, Inc.

June 1, 2016

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. (NASDAQ: BECN) ("Beacon") announced today that it has acquired Woodfeathers, Inc. ("Woodfeathers"), a distributor of primarily residential roofing and related products headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1955, Woodfeathers has grown to four branches, with Oregon locations in Portland, Beaverton, and Oregon City and one location in Vancouver, Washington.

Woodfeathers President and co-owner Lee Gotcher stated: "We are very excited to pass the torch to Beacon, which presents a great opportunity for Woodfeathers to continue our long tradition of customer service and to expand our product offerings. My family has known Beacon's leadership team for many years and easily concluded that of all the possible merger partners in the industry, Beacon best fit Woodfeathers' culture of hard work, integrity, and a commitment to employees and customers. Joining the Beacon family presents tremendous opportunities for everyone at Woodfeathers as Beacon executes upon its Pacific Northwest growth plans."

Paul Isabella, Beacon's CEO and President, emphasized the strategic fit of the acquisition and the compatibility of the two companies and stated, "For over half a century, Woodfeathers has been the preeminent name in the Oregon and southern Washington residential roofing distribution market. We are grateful that Ron, Lee and Terri Gotcher chose to align the great company their family has built together with Beacon as we continue our expansion in the key Pacific Northwest market. We are very pleased to welcome the entire experienced and highly-regarded Woodfeathers team to the Beacon family."
